Early Work with Reallusion.com. Thi-Mai. c.2006.
In the beginings a trial ended up discovering the powerful realities of iClone, the software created by Reallusion.com. In this, two Characters were created from a story written by iClonia.com back in 1981. As soon as the Characters were created and audio files mapped to them, they spoke, walked, talked and suddenly, Walt Disney appeared on our desktops so powerfully, Commercial interest was almost instantanious.
The Evolution of Thi Mai came about as a sample collective. Many gigabytes of work wre in uncompressed AVI format and needed weeding out.
In order to influence those who may be new to animation in iClone the colected cuts and tests were reassembled in date order and a good 10 minutes
of animation from early iClone by Reallusion.com created by Neil Armstrong of iCloneTutorials.com was born.
The fascinating thing is that each evolutionary jump served to enhance the output anims so dramatically that after each upgrade it was like having to learn
a completely new animal but with leagues more ability and output variables supplying the final output-power with ever more impressive impact.
Thi Mai with G4 *(4th Generation) Head. Muscles are more efective and believable now.
Eye lashes and lips and also cheeks move more controllably now than ever.
This is definitely the start of serious Character Avatar facial expression and control especially as we now have Generation 5 Avatars to work with.
Commercially then...
The Avatar Control required to deliver something closer to Avatar the Movie is close at hand but even then, commercially this is above Lloyds Banks Adverts. The style of Lloyds Banks Commercially celebrated works are no longer an incapability of iClone.
In the right hands, and with some serious remodelling, better animation serials can be engineered now but it takes time.
