Carved Chinese Soapstone Water Bowl & Brush Vase.

A beautifully coarse collection of Animals, Birds and Flowers in Soapstone, carved to suit the original stone shape and the brush vase side has a vent for water release. The bowl is secure and as a whole this is uncracked or chipped. Carved to appear light, relatively heavy as stone is, this is a superb piece to adorn your Table and hold that raw, rustic atmosphere.
One peculiarity with this piece in the fluency of design is that on the top there appears to be an Eagle in flight OR a Phoenix, but it has actually become part of the foliage. So there are Three (4?) Birds, One Monkey, One Dog? and perhaps other things as you discover them We are not too sure. A very pleasant curio.
